Sorry to have been 'missing' for so long. It seems to have been a catalogue of woes here at Sassie Acres. My laptop died and had to be replaced, the O.H has built me a new craftroom with lots of lovely cupboards and worktops. If I ever get it tidy I will post some pictures for you.

I have been kept very busy while I have been off-line making jewellery and preparing for my late husbands youngest daughters wedding, which was on Saturday. It was a very proud day and one I enjoyed immensly. The crafty streak is alive and well in the next generation. She made her dress, all her invites, orders of service, place names, favours (lovely little wine glass charms), bestmans waistcoats & cravats, bridesmaids dresses,flowers and the cake. No wonder I haven't seen her in an age.

Well, hopefully I shall get my workroom up and working really soon. I am sorting through boxes of lovely crafty stash that I had forgotten I'd got and getting re-aquainted with my Cricut which I didn't have room to leave out. I have even got room for my sewing machine again so I am really excited.

Memory Money Boxes

I bought these money boxes at Hobbycraft for the children and suggested we made them into memory money boxes by everyone signing their names on them so that they all had a lasting memory of a fabulous weekend and new friends. They are all in various stages of progress in these pictures. The children are going to use them to save up some money for the next time we all meet up to spend on some nice outings together. I think they are really lovely and hopefully half term will soon come round for a return visit.

Childs Charm Bracelet

some silver belcher chain, some charms and pretty beads from a visit to Hobbycraft in Woking. It also has one of my treasured feather charms on it. Bubbles got this as a Thank You for her help in putting up the new fence. She was up and down the garden carrying heavy watering cans of water, the concrete was going off so quickly and Ian very nearly got set in concrete and would have if it wasn't for his Chief Water Carrier. Top Banana!

Bubbles & Sass' Crafty Stuff

Sorry for the 'tongue in cheek' previous posting. I just couldn't resist a touch of mischief. Now for the serious stuff. On Saturday morning Bubbles and I were home alone, Mum and Ian had gone to Wicks for fence 'stuff' and the boys were outside making lovely games. So Bubbles and I made some things from my bead box. These are the very first earrings that little Bubbles had ever made, and she made them for Mummy. The beads are a mixture of glass and plastic (so they weren't heavy and hurt Mum's ears) and were chosen with great deliberation so that they matched Mummy's favourite clothes. I'm sure you will agree my Blog Friends that Mum had every cause to be over the moon with them. The other is a snow flake that was a bit of a joint effort as the wire was quite hard to bend but hung on a nylon thread it looks really cool in the window and looks fabulous when the sun catches it. I think we have a serious contender to Icklewols crown as Drated Child!! Top Banana Bubbles a job well done xx

Fence Huggers Anonomous!!

Many apologies my dear blog friends, but my dear hubby has put up this fence to 'dog proof'my dear friend Big Donna's garden this weekend.Lurking somewhere at the bottom of the garden she is to be found hugging her new fence and giggling maniacally!! She doesn't get out much and she has had to go down the bottom of her garden to hug her fence and stroke it and coo lovingly at it!! when we left her today she had cut back this addiction to only 5 times an hour!! We hope that by Christmas this will have been reduced to just looking at it from the house!! We love you really Donna and Thank You for a great weekend xx

These cushions made for my friends studio are totally recycled. the cushion pads are old feather pillows that have been restitched and cut to size. The wool is odd scraps found when we turned out our cupboards and the backs are old t-shirts bought for 50p each in a charity shop. Total cost £2 for 3 BARGAIN!!!

Necklaces

Here are 2 necklaces that I have made with my gadget, one is self tie in lime green with a wooden orange glittery bead. While the other is more glamerous with a nickle free fastening in black and grey tone teddy bear yarn with a red heart bead. I love these necklaces and I now have them in every colour to match my wardrobe. Nanny Gee is also making these as they are so easy and effective. I've now decided to recoup a little cash and have put them on Folksie, all I have to do now is cross my fingers!!

I 'needed' a necklace and some earrings to go with an outfit in a hurry. I had some lovely pewter feather charms which I bought for cards but decided that they were too good to use. So with a bit of memory wire and a few findings and half an hour and beads from stash this pair of earrings and necklace was born.

Summer Days At Sassie Acres

Earlier in the Summer we decided to 'test drive' our new old caravan, we didn't go too far from home and spent a couple of lovely days at Woodbury on a fabulous site. The days passed very quickly with us spending a lot of the time on the beach at Exmouth. As you can see we were very fortunate with the weather and Dad and his Lad enjoyed swimming in the sea, football on the beach, rockpooling and other ladish pursuits. Whilst yours truly lazed on the beach with a jolly good book. PURRRRRFICK!!!

No this isn't Italy, its Horsham West Sussex at Easter Weekend!! The town was buzzing with all things Italian all weekend. Stalls selling Italian wine, cheeses, bread and other delicacies Italian cars and motorbikes and Opera Singers too. The good weather was a definite bonus but the atmosphere was just terrific. Congratulations Horsham on a great event. Can you guess who took the piccies? Yes it was my OH so that is why they are all of cars and bikes!!!

This is a mug with a history. I decorated the original mug for my friends son for Christmas. BUT what ever I do for this poor chap gets mucked up in this case the transfer (image taken from MCS) just wouldn't lie flat it kept buckling. So it had to be redone GRRRRRR! Its not just things with the handmade touch that go wrong either, if I buy him chocolate it gets inadvertantly left beside a hot radiator and so his presents are a source of high anxiety!!

My First Attempt at Paint Fusion

This is my first ever try at paint fusion and I do believe I'm 'hooked'. I played with Nanny Gee's toys while we were staying with her and she taught m the basic techniques. I particularly enjoyed making the berries as even with my limited skills I could achieve reasonable results. The tongue did poke out the corner of my mouth while attempting the leaves as I really had to apply myself. It was great fun though and open air crafting is to be a big fat MUST DO.

Remember the Boxes?

Well this was what was in the larger of the 2 boxes for my dear friend and Cyber Mummy, it has been a long time in the doing, just not got my act together. These are pictures of her and her lovely family when they all made the journey from W Sussex to Darkest Devonshire for my wedding. With her Eldest Granddaughter being one of my 2 bridesmaids and of course her masterpiece of a wedding cake. It brings back such lovely memories of a day made so special just because they were all here with us, a real time of family and great friends. In the smaller box was a necklace very similar to the aqua one I have already posted, but in red, which I think she loved as she wore it quite a lot over the weekend we have just spent with them.

Well, we have just got back from Nanny Gee's after an absolutely brilliant weekend. We didn't get out and about much, after all why go anywhere when the roads are madness and the garden and the company superb. We had fabulous food, brilliant company and the most fabulous weather. The time flew by way too quickly and it seems no sooner we arrived there, then it was time to come home. We had some local trips into Horsham and to the Glitterpot, so we did get some quality retail therapy in. Once I get myself organised I shall post some photo's of our 'doings'

I have also tried Paint Fusion for the first time and although it isn't the greatest bit of work ever, it certainly wasn't bad. I shall post a piccie when I sort out all my photo's an edit them.

It is such an anticlimax comming home and I have just climbed the washing mountain and conquered it. I have to pop out and do some shopping other than that I don't intend to do much more other than laze around. I might even make a jug of Pims and put in the fridge for later on. Can you tell I'm still in holiday mode?

Special Nan Easter Card

My Nan is one very special lady and deserves a very special card. She was the first person to hold me and she has been holding me tight ever since. This card comes from a set of cd's that Ideal World did in conjunction with Red Hot Bed. I had forgotten about it until I was digging around in my cupboards looking for transfer paper. It has some lovely stuff on it and I mounted all the elements onto an 8x8" pearlescent card. I was really pleased with the result and I know that my Nan will love it, it also has her named flower Iris in it, so some Irises for Iris.

Something Different, a new obssession?

Something a bit different. When I was at Shepton Mallet on Friday I bought some beads and some random dyed silk yarn and a french knitting gadget. This necklace (in the aqua colours) took very little time to make and is so soft and light, the ribbon has a irridescence about it and was lovely to work with.

This got the old grey matter rambling and I thought I would try that lilac ribbon that I had oceans of and so the little lilac bracelet was born.

I am now thinking about spools of thread for necklace making, if I thread the beads on first perhaps I can make a floating bead necklace?? In fact the possibilities are endless.

My First MCS Violet

This might well be my very first MCS Violet card but it most certainly isn't going to be my last!! The no stamp required images are lovely and coloured with Promarkers look gorgeous and are so simple to do. The matting and layering uses bits from my scraps box.

Lilac Time

I must want my head read!! Following on from the hydrangeas, when Rainbow Lady chose Lilac Wine for her theme, I thought 'I wonder IF'!!! So here we are, the little flowers took a whole sheet of A5 lilac paper!!! They are shaped and the centres glittered and then formed on a base card covered in generous 'blobs' of Pinflair Glue Gel. The little flowers are placed one at a time randomly filling in gaps. The leaves are cut with the Big Shot, and the twig is from one of my now deseaced mature shrubs!!!! The ribbon is from my stash with a sentiment from Papermania. I also found in my stash some lovely MIC papers and although it looks silver grey in the photo it is a gorgeous Eau D Nil.

This Used To Be My Little Patch of Heaven

Well Folk, this used to be my little patch of Heaven, mature tree's and shrubs and the hours I've spent keepin it looking good. Now as you can see it is an absolute mess, and I am so upset. This is believe it or not the 'New Shed' which is 3x the footprint of its predessor and so very high. I can't see my 'owl post' from the kitchen anymore. The grass is wrecked and I haven't any space for my fruit and veggie patch, I have lost heck of a lot of my clothes line. This is the result of the men in this house looking after their motorbikes. When I saw the shed on Wednesday I just cried. I suppose it can only get better, but when I think of the time and money I've put into my little patch I could howl all over again. Why do they find it so hard to understand why it s so important to me?

Ho Hum! I shall be cracking the whip to get it restored back to its former glory.

This little card, really makes me smile. Its a digistamp and I'm sorry but I can't remember the artist for which I am truly sorry. The backing paper is one of Craftyann's a really cheerful paper. This image brings a smile to me as it reminds me of one of my sons when he was a littlie and had been in yet another scrape, I walked past his bedroom one evening to hear him praying that God would make him a betterer boy please. Oh he was a little scamp!! The buttons and the Teddy's bow are from a Docraft Goody bag and the image has been inked around the edge by Dewdrop chalk ink

I think this cd Boys to Men is just amazing, I love the papers the toppers I just love everything about it. It has cartoony bits, scenic bits and stuff you just have to dribble on. I made this as an easel card but instead of putting a high topper on it I thought I would do something just a little bit different and put a small topper pyrimaged instead. All the elements are from the cd and I really shall be using it a lot.

Now as a Someone Special card this one fits the bill a treat, so it is going to wing its way through cyber space to Cd Sunday Challenge Blog. I hope if you click on the picture it will be easier to read the words as they are something quite special.

I'm so sorry blog fans but I have been beavering away all weekend on a project which I can't put on my blog yet as its a gift for someone who I know reads my blog from time to time. But I will post it after they have recieved it in a few weeks time. This week I have Easter cards to do and some challenge cards so hopefully there will be plenty to go on with. I'm not feeling the Mae West at the moment, my cold is still hanging around and making me feel miserable and it is a bit iffy as to whether I shall make the Show at Shepton Mallet at the end of the week which I shall be really disappointed to miss. This morning I am sat at my desk, looking at The Project which just needs a few finishing touches to it, but that little rascal my mojo seems to have legged it and left me high and dry!! Anyway I hope that things buck up as the day goes on and I get something done ready to 'play' Love to You All xx

Cyber Mothers

I have plundered my stash and my scraps box for this card and have used my Bigshot to emboss and cut the frames. I have actually made 2 like this but like the numptie I am I posted the other without photgraphing it! DOH!!! If you are very well behaved I might just share my secret weapon for making this with you later on. They are a bit of a labour of love for a 'bish, bash, bosh' crafter like me. I took the inspiration from a birthday card from my friend Ginger, her cards are just out of this world. I should also say that these little cards are A6 in size and I put them in a C5 envelope unfolded for posting. Sorry folk, I can't move my picture of the tool I used to create this card. Its a wonderful gadget with click in and click out dies. It came from Pinflair many years ago and although I have used it loads of times this is the first time I thought of doing this. On the ends of the handles there are 2 sizes of balltool so you can punch and shape as you go. It is about the same size as a pair of pliers. I have used it to make 'stuff' to go into shaker cards, the little leaves are so cute and quite useful, they measure only 6mm aprox. My Cyber Mothers are both such special ladies who have picked me up and dusted me off many times and they deserve very special cards, in fact the shock of getting a card from me in time for the occassion will probably be more than they can stand, as I am notorious for driving around months with the cards before I remember to post them.

Nanny Gee's Ruby Wedding

I wanted to share this with you, although this is from October last year, the loss of the camera lead has delayed the posting. This is one of my lovely cyber-mummies (lucky me I have two) and her lovely husband Mr Derek Boom Boom (remember Basil Brush?) It was fabulous to share such a special day with them. This was the 'official' celebration luncheon, however the day before we went to a fabulous chinese restaurant for an all you can eat buffet luncheon which was out of this world. The only snag was that we had to go home and 'do' the flowers for the table arrangements............ not easy when you are stuffed!

This is the lady who made my fabulous wedding cake and her cakes are out of this world, her cards ain't bad either lol

Something Different

I thought that you might like to see this. It is a coffin spray that I made for a good friend. His wife wanted to choose the flowers herself. So we bought red and pink roses, white lillies yellow spray roses, iris, purple lisianthus and the foliage was kinda tropical to signify his South African roots. It also has white spray chrysanths and hypericum berries. She wanted it to look natural with no ribbon and very 'open' not hedgehoggy!!

It is 4.5 feet long and 1 foot wide.

And Yes! those boxes in the background do contain ribbon lol

MEN!!!! The title of ths post was the howl that went up here last night. Young Bobster suddenly realised that the pile of post for 'The Eejit' might just mean that its his birthday!! Thankfully Bobster has just scraped under the wire with 24 hours to spare. Its 'im indoors hip hip hooray day tomorrow. So Muvver had to knock up another card pdq. The "Old Man" thing is a joke between O H and the Bobster and the greeting exchanged on the landing at stoopid O'clock when they are going or coming home from work ...... shiftworkers tut!

For A Very Special Friend

Now those of you who know about my daily doings have no doubt heard me mention my dear friend Windy. She has been retired for a while but just lately her 'part-time' job has been much, much more and consequently I don't see her very much at the moment. I do miss her and her special brand of nuttiness. So I had planned to make her a 'special' card to let her know just how much she means to me. So when I saw Rainbow Lady's challenge this morning it was just the kick up the btm that I needed to get on with it.

Ian bought me the Seraphina cd and stamps from Doolicrafts last year when I was struggling to craft and I just love the images. My children all had knitted jumpers with Seraphina and friends on when they were littlies, so it was a trip down memory lane for me. I don't knit much these days but it was lovely to see Seraphina and to be able to craft with her.

The card is made on 3 sheets of A4 card, made into a gatefold,it is a lovely pearlescent card in a vibrant mauvy/lilac the embellishments are all from my stash and it features 'that' ribbon again.

Sorry I Just Can't Stop!!

I'm not being paid commission, honest I'm not!!

Sorry I am just getting totally carried away with these, and I am still kicking myself for not getting the vellums. There are so many little elements on these sheets that there are just limitless posibilities here. I have put my stamp block down and I am backing slowly away from the stamps.

Think I shall go and play with something else or you will all be getting bored with them.

Shame I'm not getting commission though. A friend pointed out earlier that Crafters Companion are releasing a cd/stamp etc of fairies next week! What is a girl to do?

Another Beauty

Here's another one of those gorgeous fairy stamps, this fairy has a selection of things for her hand so every one can be quite different. The sentiment is from the Castle & Unicorn set. I find these so easy to colour with Promarkers and they really suit the style of stamp.

This afternoon I had a mishap with my Big Shot when I was embossing and cut right through my rubber embossing mat. I was so cross with myself, that is the 2nd senior moment today. I am too ashamed to admit to my other mishap here.

Oh My Word! I had fun yesterday with the beautiful Castles & Unicorn set of Papermania stamps. But the fairies on the fairy set are just magnificent and it is really hard to choose which one to use first. Of course then I can mix and match images from the 2 sets. I could keep going for ever with these treasures. I have also been experimenting with pealescent card stock for colouring with Promarkers, and I have come to the conclusion that a bumper pack of A3 cardstock that I bought from Annamarie Designs (you know the lady with the template cd's) is just fabby. It colours beutifully, the sheen shows through and the colours and blender work superbly on it.

Going back to wittering on about the fairies, they are very 'grown-up' fairies and not one of them has a duff face, which is a huge bonus in my book.

My camera lead has come but unfortunately these lovely stamps are higher up my list of 'to do' things.

My mojo has worked his little socks off this year, but with so many lovely stamps landing in my hot sticky little mitts, it looks as though he will carry on jumping up and down on my desk. I just hope that my favourie designers will take a long holiday through the summer to allow my crafty budget to recover.

Well its been quite a weekend and I had steam coming out of my ears yesterday, so my friend Ladylace aka Christine told me I needed a crafty spend. I didn't need telling twice so I bought these glorious stamps from the Midnight Fairytale range. This is from the Castles and Unicorn set. I have coloured them in with the ever faithful promarkers. I love these and I really wish I had bought the absolutely gorgeous velums too. So Christine when OH and son are having pedigree chum (other pet foods are available) for tea next week, I shall blame you!

St Patricks Day/ Luck of the Irish

I have waited yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaars to use this lovely image from Joanna Sheens Victorian Angels & Fairies cd. Being a huge Angel Fan I love this cd with a passion. I stole the 4 leaf clover backing paper from another image on the cd. The topper has been matted and layered with a gorgeous green mirror card. Purists would pick holes in this as is it a little Irish fella in the green with his back to us or is it an elf in hs nightshirt? Who cares? I think its a wee Irish Guy and I love him!!

'Im indoors, has got a birthday next weekend, so I thought I ought to make him a card (don't know why he would want a card when he's got me). So this is what I came up with. I bought this cd originaly because there is a naughty girl on a motorbike which would be just perfect for my son who will be 25 in April. All the elements are from the cd and I'm sorry about the wonky scan, but you will miss them when they are gone lol! The cd is called Glamour Pin Ups and there is enough naughtieness for the Gentlemen of my aquaintence to keep them in cards for a while.

The digi stamp is from Sliekja, I just love her cute stamps and best of all they are free, one for every occassion. Not Another Skewy Card!

Its really difficult to see but the panel has been embossed into a diagonal trellis effect with the Hougie Board and gems put n the intersections, 4 brads in the corner and a plaid sentiment finish this sweet card.

There will be sighs of relief all round Blogland when the USB cable for my camera comes, hopefully early next week. I think that this hasn't scanned too well because the card itself is a beautiful pearlescent card which has the most amazing sheen on it.

Well despite going AWOL for a long time, I havejust made my 100th posting. Thank you all for browsing my blog and for the lovely comments that you have made, it has been really encouraging to hear from you all and to know that you have enjoyed some of my work.

Good News Blog Fans

I have ordered a new USB cable from Samsung for my camera, so hopefully it will arrive swiftly and I shall be able to show you some things that won't go through the scanner soon. I have had a go with a cord making gizmo and I am wondering what to do with it now. I shall post some examples for your perusal as soon as my cable comes. I have also got some tealight holders that I have decorated which I shall post too.

I think I shall be more careful with cables though as it is an expensive lesson to learn!!

Backing paper courtesy of the Stokeinteignhead Temptress, the one and only lovely Joanna, comes from her Precious Petals cd. Until I made some baby cards the other week I had forgotten how many fabulous backing paper there was on the cd. Now we all love a freebie don't we? and every month finds me in the newsagents scanning all the magazines to see if there are any freebies on them that take my fancy. Sass logic is this, something to read and a freebie thrown in! This little cutie was part of a set given away with Simply Cards & Papercraft and coloured with Promarkers. Not my usual style of card and I leave it to you to judge whether I've cracked it or not!

I'm a bit concerned though about all this cuteness in my cardmaking, I think I must be getting more girlie in my old age!!

Roll on Summer

Roll on summer, strawberries and cream, sunshine, flowers, Devon Cream Tea, summer dresses, bright colours ....................................... Bring It On!! It is so dull and dismal I needed a boost. When browsing MCS Fab Glam 50's I came across this and it just made me feel all warm and bouncy. I could almost smell the flowers in the garden (makes a change from mud). I had some sunny yellow A5 card blanks which I folded 2 into A6 cards and used the 3rd to form a A5 gatefold card. I matted and layered the image onto a piece of starburst gold mirror card. Then I put matching backing paper onto the 'gate' sections. I have left the inside of the card bright sunshine yellow. As you can see I am delving into my ribbon stash (not bought anymore, so that New Years Revolution has been kept). I have rolls of this gorgeous tape in several different colourways (I just couldn't decide so had one of each). It just yells summer, seaside and beach huts at me.

Well I have hunted high and low for the camera cable and I just can't find it anywhere, so I may have to bite the bullet come pay day and buy a new one. I can then show you some more of my cards, the ones that won't squeeze through the scanner. That is a pain because I have seen some stamps that I would reeeeeeeeeeeaaalllllllllllllllllly like, so that would be them out the window.

I hope that this card makes you all feel a bit more opitimistic and that summer isn't so far away.

This is a cheeky little card and I expect some of you know my feelings about cats!! I know- I'm sorry but I much prefer dogs. Not that I would ever hurt a cat or any other animal, I just prefer dogs! Well when that tree twangs back our little friend is off into space. Awww Bless!

A fabby girlie card. I absolutely loved putting thi 8"x8" card together. It is from MCS Fab Glam 50's just trimmed with some lilac ribbon. I bought this ribbon for some wedding stationery that I had been commissioned to do and then the wedding was called off, leaving me with shed loads of this chiffon ribbon. I like this ribbon but its really badly behaved to work with, it curls in all the wrong places and if you aren't careful it frays like the devil.

I must rush to get this on to The Cd Sunday Challenge, I made it in the week but my putey has been playing up and my energy levels have been up and down and al over the place.

Doilie Play

Ok complete with finger marks! This is for Bah Humbug. The Angel is a Debbi Moore stamp coloured with promarkers. I sprayed the doilie with Glimmer Mists in Ancient Copper and Lava Red. I cut 2 discs of gold from mirror card and then scored some artistic lines in a sunray type pattern with the Hougie board. I have mounted the layers on to a sheet of pearlescent gold card and have layered them slightly off centre.

I hope you like my 'playing' I'm sure I can do much more with this concept given time.

Well I needed an excuse to play with this cd. I bought this at Westpoint and I love it. It complements so many of Debbi's cd's. It is Paper Delights Foiled Flourishes and I do think it is a must have if you have any of the Venetian, Paris or Art Deco cd's.

Oh what a joy! This is a digistamp from Craftyann and backingpaper too. These were part of my selection from being top 3 on her challenge blog. I really was spoilt for choice. The digistamps are well drawn, making the colouring in an absolute doddle (must be if I can do it!). I most definitely will be buying more of these from Ann as they are great to use. Mmmm! perhaps I can be converted to digistamps lol.

I am a real 'Angel' fan, and I never need an excuse to buy anything angel. I fell in love with these stamps from Debbi Moore, they are real 'everyday' angels. This is stamped on to cheap pearl card, which has proved to be perfect for colouring with promarkers it gives a gorgeous shimmer. That has been matted onto mirror card and then matted on to some of Craftyann's lovely backing paper. A very quick thinking of you card.

Time has been in very short supply lately so I have made a card for my 'im indoors' and entered it for 2 Challenges. Craftyann's Challenge and Rainbow Lady's. All the elements are from Debbi Moore's lovely new cd. I have mounted it on to an 8"x8" pearlescent card and matted on gold mirriecard.

I hope you like this effort. Perhaps by next week I shall be back in some sort of order and not flying by the seat of my pants. I have had to play 'catch up' today and I have made 4 cards today, some of which I shall post later.

Ring in the New But Don't Throw Out the Old

Here is one of Craftyann's lovely digi stamps, she is so clever and I have really enjoyed playing with it. I put the image into MCS to manipulate it and I also used some backing paper from MCS. I coloured the digistamps with promarkers and distressed the edges of a doily with a distressed ink pad. I cut the image out and decoupaged them with pinflair glue.

I loved this image, the weather is so dull and dismal, working on this image reminds me that spring is'nt so far away.

I'm so sorry if I am boring you with these little cutsies, I just want to play with them all. The backing papers from the Docraft Goody bag really works well with these images. I have used the orange holographic card again and added a bow from the goody bag. The colouring is with promarkers. I do have other stamps but you know how it is when you have new stamps you want to try them all. These stamp out perfectly first time and every time and it seems just wicked to stamp them out just to try them and then do nothing with them. Ok, Ok! I admit it! I love colouring! There I've said it! Is there a support group for penaholics? if so I must join.

Another Dose of Cute

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Just can't resist these little chaps. These were part of 4 sets of Woodland Friends stamps that fell off the shelf at the Glitter Pot, it was just a good job my basket was there to catch them, or they might have hurt themselves. The backing paper had taken root in my stash as had the orange holographic card. The flowers are from my Docrafts Goody Bag as is the ribbon. The little heart gems were also kicking around in my stash.

Today I have had a lovely chat with Craftyann on Skype until she had to 'rescue' her bread. I have also got a lovely image from her Digishop which I am playing with for her challenge. I think I may have to give Bah Humbug a miss this week as I don't do stencils. I have also coloured another cutie from Woodland Friends.

There are some lovely bits of art work on here including the most amazing wolf. I like the way that there is plenty here for winter birthdays as well as Christmas. The 2 holographic snow flakes have been lurking in my stash for way too long. The icicle border has been cut out (fiddly) and mounted onto a piece of silver mirror board.

Ok, I've just realised that I put this card skewed in the scanner!! This is a commisioned card for a Father who makes and flies radio controlled airplanes. The backing paper is from MCS One For The Boys and so is the topper. I thought this airways poster was something just a little bit different. I mounted the image and sentiment on mirror card.

I have tried to scan my large creation from yesterday but it just won't fit in the scanner and give a clear image so you will all just have to wait until the camera leads show up again.

Today I have decided that I really NEED a Kindle e-book reader, but I am going to have to make and sell an awful lot of cards before I can buy one. Perhaps that is a great incentive. Watch this space!!

So do you think I like this stamp? I inked the stamp with the versamagic chalk in jumbo lava, used ribbon from my stash (this is going to be a big trend this year) and buttons and backing paper from my Docrafts Goody bag.

Here is one of my new purchases. My pal Mags bought one of these stamps and a Docraft Goody bag too. You can see what she did with hers at NannyGee's Place. I stamped the Her Art Dandelion Clock with Versa Mark pad and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used Chipped Saphire distress ink and applied with cut and dry foam. The backing paper and ribbon came in a DoCraft Goody Bag. I mounted the image on deep blue mirror card. I shall probably send this one Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog

Oh No!!

I am just sorting through my crafty stash as a good tidy up is desparately needed. I have so much ribbon, so must NOT buy anymore no matter how desirable it is. I also ought to notify the local Fire Service that I am a fire risk (like a tyre factory) owing to the number of stamps I have (and NO I am not going to give up buying them). I must also use up some of my card stock before I buy anymore lol! Good intentions but how long will it last? My next purchase is going to have to be a Hougie Board, I had a play at New Year with my friend Mags (NannyGee) board. Having talked myself in and out of it dozens of times I am convinced that I really need one. Roll on pay day lol

Over New Year, our puppy did a disappearing act from the garden, he dug his way to freedom, we have looked high and low for him and contacted all the relevant people but sadly he hasn't shown up. It is now a week on and I am sadly coming to the realisation that he isn't going to show up now.

What A Whopper

I got this lovely Daisy and Dandelion cd just before Christmas. Now as many of you know I don't normally like cutsie cards, but early on in the year last year Ian bought me Seraphina and Friends cd and stamps to try and kick start me. Since then Cutsie Rocks! This lovely cd has been a very welcome addition to my stash. I really haven't had time to play with it until now and I love, love love it. The backing paper covers the whole of the card blank and I have decoupaged the elephant and the butterfly. really doesn't need much more. Think I shall send this one to Cd Sunday for this weeks challenge.

Woooo Hoooo on a Roll Now

Well folk, what yer know? My mojo has gone into overdrive and the little chap is working flat out. I loved this digistamp on sight so summery and a total change from all the wintery things we've had lately. I printed off several of these and coloured them in in different ways. This was one that I 'nicked' the Step-Childrens pencils for. I love the effect and a few shells nicked from a pot in the bathroom just seem to go so well.

Bah Humbug

This is my first ever blog challenge for Bah Humbug. I don't want to be caught napping as I was this Christmas. The backing paper is from Glenda's Cd Seasons Greetings as is the tag. The wreath is made of individually cut leaves from a stamp that I bought to do my wedding stationary, I can't think where I bought it though. The leaves were coloured with el cheapo metallic pencils that I bought on holiday from a seaside gift shop, I think they cost about £1.

Ok so I have a new camera but someone has hidden the cables so regretfully I am back to having to scan cards, which really doesn't do them justice. I have some lovely piccies on the camera but until the leads show up, there they will have to stay.

Todays offering comes from one of Joanna cd's. I found this image on a sheet I printed off ages ago and imediately wanted to play with it. All the paper is from my scraps box, the scroll is from one of the Glitter Girls Boards. I have spent the last few days 'spring cleaning' my computer, a job I wish 'd never started. I do feel quite virtuous now its done though. How many clipart piccies can one use in a lifetime? I suppose I thought they might come in useful one day.

I am now going to reward myself with a nice glass of Rose Port that my Cyber-Sister Dawnywol and family gave me for Christmas, CHEERS!

Happy New Year to You All.

I'm sorry to have been away for so long, but things here at Sassie Acres have been fraught. 2o10 has been a shocking year with bad health following more bad health. A fall prevented me crafting for many months and then just as I was feeling better Ian was taken very ill. A new year and a clean sheet is finally making me feel more optimistic and crafting is much higher up my list of priorities. You will be pleased to hear that I have a new digi camera, so hopefully the quality of my photographs will be vastly improved.

So it is a case of watch this space. I have just got home from staying with a crafting friend and we have raided the craftshops of W. Sussex and I have bought oodles of lovely new stamps. I have also bought some new dies and shall be looking forward to a decent playtime.

The Cosmic Shimmer background inspired this card. I was playing around with Cosmic Shimmer Mists on black card, loved the way the light 'played' with the Cosmic Shimmers, it looked like the reflections from a light source. This in turn prompted the thought of Messy's candle. I stamped Messy and his Teddy on scrap white card and coloured with Promarkers. A very sweet little card that is sure to raise a smile

English Country Garden

I loved creating this card. It is once again a U-Mount stamp stamped in distressed ink and the colour bled out with a koi water brush. The paper was then torn and distressed with a distressed ink pad and cut n dry foam. A few little embellishments completed the card.

A really cute little stamp from Sugar Nellie. I treated the image simply as it speaks for itself. I coloured the image with SURPRISE!!! Promarkers, cut out the image and mounted it on 2 pieces of gingham paper from Joanna Sheen Ltd. I just adore this image and I am finding that it is very easy to get the shadowing on with the Promarkers. I think I am finally getting the hang of it. I really NEED more of these glorious pens though lol

Playtime

This photo doesn't really do this card justice, it is a mixture of cosmic shimmers, distress ink pads, Glenda Waterworth stamps and heat embossing. I just played, dabbed, stamped and spritzed until I was happy with it. It was such a lot of fun and very messy. I just wish I could remember exactly what I did to it!

Plans for the wedding are now well in hand and I must stop playing and print the invitation inserts. Or else it will be a telephone or e-mail invitation job lol

Rock Hard Fairies

I have made this card for a little girl who becomes a teenager. I decoupaged the Rock Hard Fairy and mounted her on a navy blue card blank. I then created a bubble with acetate onto which I put 2 cobwebs which I cut from the Paper Dolls cartridge on my Cricut. To cover the edges of the acetate bubble I put 2 strips of silver mirror card. I scattered a couple of big scary spiders which came on the decoupage sheet.

Walk Like An Egyptian

The backingpaper and decoupage are from Joanna Sheen's Egyptian Adventures. The paper pieces are from the scraps box. I made the paper damp with a mister, I scrunched it up and dabbed it on a weathered wood distressed ink pad. I then dampened the paper again and rescrunched it and dabbed it in a little bit of cosmic shimmer mist in Ancient Copper. The images are stamped in distressed ink in Soot Black.

I am having a scraps binge at the moment I stamped Messy onto some white scrap card and coloured the image with Promarkers. I stamped 'BABY' onto a light blue gingham stripe and heat embossed in gold. In the depths of the scrap box I found some lovely white card with an embossed diamond pattern which I used to mat the stamped images onto. This was then matted onto a darker blue gingham. The Messy Rabbit and gingham papers are both from Joanna Sheen Ltd

I expect you have already realised that my workroom is in the process of having a massive sort out and tidy up. Consequently my scraps box is bulging at the seams. This is a little card that I put together very simply using scrap card and paper. The bear is from Joanna Sheen ltd and is coloured with Lyra Aqua Colours.
