Bed Time Messy

The Cosmic Shimmer background inspired this card. I was playing around with Cosmic Shimmer Mists on black card, loved the way the light 'played' with the Cosmic Shimmers, it looked like the reflections from a light source. This in turn prompted the thought of Messy's candle. I stamped Messy and his Teddy on scrap white card and coloured with Promarkers. A very sweet little card that is sure to raise a smile

English Country Garden

I haven't posted for quite a while, I've felt so poorly I just couldn't be bothered, I am so sorry to have ignored you all for so long. This is a lovely stamp and I can't remember where it is from. I just love it though and all I have done is used some scrap card for the backing card and edged the image background with Pentouch Gold and coloured the image with Promarkers. A very simple card but one I enjoyed making

Ancient Scraps

I loved creating this card. It is once again a U-Mount stamp stamped in distressed ink and the colour bled out with a koi water brush. The paper was then torn and distressed with a distressed ink pad and cut n dry foam. A few little embellishments completed the card.

Bedtime Stories for Little Dogs

A really cute little stamp from Sugar Nellie. I treated the image simply as it speaks for itself. I coloured the image with SURPRISE!!! Promarkers, cut out the image and mounted it on 2 pieces of gingham paper from Joanna Sheen Ltd. I just adore this image and I am finding that it is very easy to get the shadowing on with the Promarkers. I think I am finally getting the hang of it. I really NEED more of these glorious pens though lol

Playtime

This photo doesn't really do this card justice, it is a mixture of cosmic shimmers, distress ink pads, Glenda Waterworth stamps and heat embossing. I just played, dabbed, stamped and spritzed until I was happy with it. It was such a lot of fun and very messy. I just wish I could remember exactly what I did to it!
Plans for the wedding are now well in hand and I must stop playing and print the invitation inserts. Or else it will be a telephone or e-mail invitation job lol

Rock Hard Fairies

I have made this card for a little girl who becomes a teenager. I decoupaged the Rock Hard Fairy and mounted her on a navy blue card blank. I then created a bubble with acetate onto which I put 2 cobwebs which I cut from the Paper Dolls cartridge on my Cricut. To cover the edges of the acetate bubble I put 2 strips of silver mirror card. I scattered a couple of big scary spiders which came on the decoupage sheet.

Walk Like An Egyptian

The backingpaper and decoupage are from Joanna Sheen's Egyptian Adventures. The paper pieces are from the scraps box. I made the paper damp with a mister, I scrunched it up and dabbed it on a weathered wood distressed ink pad. I then dampened the paper again and rescrunched it and dabbed it in a little bit of cosmic shimmer mist in Ancient Copper. The images are stamped in distressed ink in Soot Black.

Baby Boy Messy

I am having a scraps binge at the moment I stamped Messy onto some white scrap card and coloured the image with Promarkers. I stamped 'BABY' onto a light blue gingham stripe and heat embossed in gold. In the depths of the scrap box I found some lovely white card with an embossed diamond pattern which I used to mat the stamped images onto. This was then matted onto a darker blue gingham. The Messy Rabbit and gingham papers are both from Joanna Sheen Ltd

Scraps Galore

I expect you have already realised that my workroom is in the process of having a massive sort out and tidy up. Consequently my scraps box is bulging at the seams. This is a little card that I put together very simply using scrap card and paper. The bear is from Joanna Sheen ltd and is coloured with Lyra Aqua Colours. Its a card that I have to send frequently telling people I'm sorry, I seem to suffer with very bad 'foot in mouth' and only take my foot out of my mouth to swap it for the other one.

CowBoy and Squaw

Some more lovely stamps from Kars Olliephant range, these little charactors are just so cute and such fun to make into cards. This is just an A6 gatefold card to strips of mirror card from the scraps box. Of course I have coloured them with my much loved Promarkers!!

Scrap Box Special

Today I have been on a mission to use up some of those 'bits' that have been sitting in my scraps box for a long time. A piece of aqua glitter card was put through my cricut and cut using George and Basic Shapes. I then used the aqua Cosmic Shimmer and cut a smaller mat with the Cricut. The heart was just a pink piece of card which I cut with the Cricut using the wedding cartridge. The basic cardstock was a piece of card which I trimmed to make a 5"x5" blank

Friendly Plastic

Something a bit different today. I have been having a play with some Friendly Plastic, I made the pendant from gold coloured plastic and the 'stone' is all the little scraps that get left on the mat melted down. The other piece is just 4 colours of friendly plastic melted and scraped with an old fork. I am sure that I can do much more with it than I am so as, and when I have time I shall be playing to see what I can come up with.

70's Inspired

This is a U-Mount stamp which reminded me of some wallpaper that my Mum had in the 1970's. I coloured the stamp in with Promarkers. Stamped and cut out some extra flowers to decorated the top edge of the card blank which I cut on a angle. I put a piece of gingham paper from Joanna Sheen behind the front and added a Happy Birthday peeloff. The muted colours and the retro flowers work very well together. I just wish I was a better photographer as the photo's don't do the card justice

Symphony of blues

I have really been playing with colours a lot lately and having a lot of fun revisiting techniques I haven't used for ages. This card has backing paper from Glenda Waterworths Peacock Summer Party which has the most scrummy backing papers on it. The topper is made using a brayer with Kaleidacolour ink pad in Blue Breeze on glossy card stock. I then embossed in silver with a U-Mount stamp and embellished with blue and lilac gems. The girl image is from Sugar Nellie and has been coloured with Promarkers. It was lovely to do this card and lovely to be able to mess around and get really mucky!!

Dragon

Another scrap box special. A DL card in landscape, some scrap mirror card embossed on a Glitter Girls Keepsake board, some peeloffs and a dragon stamped onto gold mirror card and embossed in Japanese Lacquer Red. So simple yet so effective.
I have been tidying and sorting out my workroom and I have been using up a lot of those forgotten scraps. It is challenging but very satisfying to do. Many of my scrapbox challenges are finding their way onto my blog.
I'm not a great Blogger owing to pressure of time, but I do hope you enjoy looking at what I am getting up to.

Pansies

A lovely card using a WS Design template. A doddle to make even for a numbskull like meself. The pansy decoupage was made a while back when I was having a snipping frenzy! I shaped the pansies with a 6mm ball tool and have layered it up with good old Pinflair gel. Just finished the edge of the apertures off with a silver peeloff.

Wow! Thank You Stampman

Dreamer

This is a lovely stamp from Sugar Nellie, which I have used to practice my colouring and shading with Promarkers. I am finding that the Promarkers are far more versatile than I would have imagined and they can be as bold or as subtle as you choose. I am still playing with colour combinations to get the shading right, but I am absolutely loving them

Lazy Days

This cute little card is a real mixture. The background is from Cute Companions Volume 1 and the little fella is a Kars stamp coloured in with Promarkers. The glitter butterflies are from The PaperMill Shop. It was a quick card and has a multitude of uses, especially as the little fella has a plaster on his knee, ideal for my little neighbour who often shows me her "baddies" and where she has a "zaster" to make it all better.

Aw Bless

This is an image from a Kars stamp set, and coloured with my new bestest friends Promarkers. I have made a spring card and mounted this cute little image along with some mulberry paper flowers.

Holiday Card

This card is for a lady from the forum who is in Somerset on holiday. I am meeting her later for a cuppa. It is again scraps from my scrap box and a U-Mount Stamp from the Coast collection. I have coloured it using my new bestest friends Promarkers. I am delighted with just how subtle the colouring with these pens can be. Very versatile pens that give a lovely finish

Parchment

This card is one of the projects on Christine Colemans DVD, Parchment craft for Beginners. I have gone right back to basics because I have acquired some really bad habits which were spoiling the look of my work. I worked through the project with the DVD to reawaken the 'correct' way of doing things. This project uses just basic embossing and just a little bit of colouring which I used just ordinary coloured pencils for.

New Bestest Friends

These cute little stamps are from Sugar Nellie and they have been coloured with my new bestest friends Promarkers. I have added very small Googly eyes to the mouse and the knight which makes them rather humourous cards. All the matting and layering is from the ever bulging scraps box.

Thank You

I just love this cdrom from Joanna Sheen, every card is a winner. Its from her Elegant Fans Cd and it is just fabulous. Can you tell that I love it? the only addition to this card is a pink piece of glitter card the other bits all come from the cd. The fan is decoupaged and so is the blue frame around the lady.

Tag Card

A quick and easy parchment card. A little bit of embossing and cut work and embellished with tags from Red Hot Bed and a little bit of ribbon from the scraps box. The flowers are adapted from a pattern by Christine Coleman as is the border. The strong colour gives it a bit of zing and the peeloff complements the borders on the tags.

Gorgeous Cat

Another quick but very striking card. I made this for my Nan as she is cat mad. It is from Joanna Sheen's Jane Netley Mayhew CDRom. The image has been matted and layered onto sage green card which matches the colour of the cats eyes. The edges of the mats have been done with a gold PenTouch pen and gold peeloff matted on to it. I was very pleased with this exceptionally quick card.

Gents Birthday

I love this card for its simplicity. The stamp is from Sprinkle and Sparkle and I have just heat embossed it in gold. I have embossed a fancy edge with the Glitter Girls board and embellished with gems. It is on ivory card which I edged with a gold PenTouch pen, so simple but very pretty.

A Messy Birthday

I do love this little chap from Joanna Sheen. This was a very quick card for a little girl who loves books. I printed one of the images from the pop out section and matted and layered it with red mirror card and a sheet of backing paper from the cdrom. With the addition of a peeloff the job was done in no time at all. A super speed card which was well recieved over the garden fence.

Messy Fathers Day

2 Stamped Messy images, coloured in with Lyra Water Crayons using a Koi waterbrush 1 sheet of backing paper and one sheer of images from the Messy Rabbit CDRom. I have also used the accesories from the Messy stamps to embelish. I keep all the sentiment boxes when I print off a sheet and were they are interactive I check my diary so that I always have loads of appropriate sentiments for the coming creations. I have pinched Sue Smiths idea of rolling the paper. I did have fun with these and I love having to create 2 different looking cards from the same products, it makes my brain cell work a bit harder

Cottage Garden Card

This is a card from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CDRom. I made this for my 'soon to be Mother in Law' for her birthday. It is all from the Cdrom with just the addition of scraps from my scrap box for the matting and layering. The image I chose came from the decoupage section of the cd.
Himself's Mum lived in a cottage very similar to this in Bossington West Somerset, so I am hoping that this card will bring back some happy memories for her.
At the moment I am not keeping too well, and I am having problems with my hands. I have been banned from using a craft knife and I can only type using 2 pencils with erasers on the top to press the keys. I went for some tests yesterday but they had to be 'aborted' as they couldn't get the results they needed.
I am still crafting, albeit very slowly and am discovering ways to do things so that I can still make cards. It is a nuisance but ' I will suceed' !! Funny isn't it? I can find ways to carry on crafting but finding ways to do housework, well thats not so easy !! lol

Scrap Box Card

This is another of my 'use up your scraps' card. It is really just scraps of mirror card which I created a frame using the The Craft Room. The flowers are stamped on lilac card and coloured using Sakura Stardust pens and metallic pencils and then just a touch of Glossy Accents on the flowers. The stamp is from Sprinkle and Sparkle.

Scraps Card

I don't know about you, but I always seem to have so much in my scraps box and unless I really force myself I don't use them up. This card was made purely using scraps from my box and Glenda Waterworths Damask Delights stamp which I embossed in silver, a peeloff which was in a bumper pack and a sentiment from a kit. I must challenge myself more often to use up my scraps.
I hope you are enjoying this wonderful weather

Speedy Butterfly

A really quick card for any occasion. I used a deep purple card blank, edged it with gold PenTouch. I then matted 2 layers from a Papermill matting pack I then used a Versamark pad to stamp One of Glenda Waterworths Damask stamps which I then embossed with detail gold embossing powder, I then overstamped it and embossed it again. I trimmed it and edged it with the gold PenTouch. I then embellished it with a purple glitter butterfly from an Angel Envelope and some stick on crystal gems. A really speedy card which went in the post only 40 minutes after being started

Peacock Lady

I have finally had time to play with no particular purpose in mind. This beautiful card is made with a stamp from Glenda Waterworths Peacock Summer Party range and the background paper from her CDRom of the same name. I coloured the image with Twinkling H2o's in Periwinkle, French Lilac, Majestic Blue, Guatemalan Green and Carribean Mist. I trimmed the image and mounted it on a piece of scrap black glitter card. I edged the card and backing paper with a PenTouch Gold pen, and added a sentiment. I know the perfect recipient for this card.
Why is it that there are always so many 'card 'Occassions' seem to happen in June? I have been making loads of cards lately, many of which will appear on this blog.

Sunday, 26 April 2009

This pair of cards use Joanna Sheen's Baby Love CDRom as their base. The one on the left has a border of Joanna Sheen and Christine Coleman rubber stamps. The one on the right is just pure Joanna Sheen Baby Love CDRom. All I have to do now is remember to post them !!

The other half and I have just had a fantastic weekend away in Bambi. We spent the weekend in Watchet Somerset staying on a campsite with our friends. The weather wasn't particularly grand, but we had a brilliant time nonetheless. I can't wait to do it all over again.

Easter

Ok, useless of Devon here!!! I forgot it was Easter, it just kinda crept up on me. So on the thursday before Good Friday I needed to rustle up some cards pdq. Again Joanna Sheen came to the rescue with the Messy Rabbit CDRom. I printed one sheet of toppers and 2 sheets of each backing paper and the result was these rather cute A6 cards. 3 Cheers for Joanna!!

Lilies

This was a quick card that I made for a lady, who had lost her Mum. It was made on a A5 lilac card and used a topper from Joanna Sheen's Heavenly Cards CDRom.
I gatefolded the cardstock and placed the image on the inside, with a spray of 3 Arum Lilies on the outside of the 'gates'

Tuesday, 21 April 2009

This was a card for a Special Friend. All the images come from Joanna Sheen Ltd CDRom Fashion Boutique. I used 3 sheets of a dusky rose coloured card to make a 21cmx21cm card. They were joined together to create a flap. The mirror template is from the Template Factory and the fancy corners are cut from a Sissix corner die in silver mirrie card. I have used rose pink glitter card from my scraps box to mat and layer together with some black gloss card. I have used scraps of ribbon and trim from my scraps box to finish. The stamped image has been in embossed in detail silver and coloured using Sakura Glaze pens. I made the box from plain box card and a sheet of A3 black card. It has an acetate window and has been trimmed with a silver line peeloff just to tidy up around the window.
Its been a long time since I last posted anything on my Blog. I have been very busy with wedding work which I won't post until after the weddings have taken place.

A lot has happened since I last posted and you will be pleased to know that in December I shall be marrying a smashing bloke. I will post my wedding stationary in due course.

I do also want to say again that I am NO photographer and the quality of the photo's are not great, I keep trying to improve
